Hard Work and Dedication = Graduation!!

It has been a long nine months for me and the boys but we all survived including Scott! Scott graduated from the Police Academy Friday April 30, 2010. I am extremely proud of him! He has grown so much over the last nine months. He has matured more, became more patient than me, and has a whole different outlook on life. Some of you have even asked me how I'm going to do it being married to a police officer? Am I afraid he will die in the line of duty? Do I realize what we're getting ourselves into? The answer...I know this is and has been a passion of Scott's ever since we got married. He loves this line of work and has always had an interest in it. He thrives for an adrenaline rush. He wants to eventually do swat or the gang unit. Am I scared...not really. Why? Because I know he has been very well trained and I expect him to come home to me and the boys every night. If he doesn't I know he will have given his life doing what he always wanted and loved and I didn't hold him back from doing it. I am more "afraid" of the saying police officer's kids are like bishops kids...they are either really good or really bad. I just hope we have instilled and are still teaching ours well and leading them down the correct path in life. So one day they can make the "right" choices themselves. I think I have came to a "real" understanding of what we're getting ourselves into. I realize we may have to move, I know to have a plan every minute of every day, and I shouldn't be afraid. Police officer are trained by the best to "be the best"...and I know Scott will be just that!! Congrats babe I am more than proud of you!!

We had a graduation BBQ for Scott to celebrate his accomplishment on Saturday but of course my luck kicked in and it rained. So we moved the BBQ to the church and had a nice potluck lunch instead. I didn't take any pictures because I was to busy hosting. But we had such a awesome turnout. From parents and siblings, to cousins and friends it was so good to see everyone that came and supported Scott! Thanks to all of you that came our celebration wouldn't have been what it was without each of you there!!

Remember...

You will ALWAYS be older than me...

even if it is only by a couple weeks!!
I love you babe and know this year's birthday wasn't the best. You worked all day, went to school all night and the second you walked in the door I left to go be by my grandma's bedside fearing she would pass away that night. You are the BEST husband ever to put the most important things first and not be selfish at all!! Speaking of which...I still owe you your present that I still haven't even wrapped or put in a bag yet! I love you with ALL my heart and look forward to many, many more years and birthdays that we will CELEBRATE!!

Officer Jones!!!

Scott got accepted into Salt Lake Community College's Police Academy today!! I am so proud of him. This has been a long battle for him. There is a test that you have to take prior to getting accepted and he failed it twice. It tests in grammar, math, reading and incident report writing. Each section you must get 70% or higher to pass the test. The first time he failed grammar 60% and math 60%. The second time he failed just grammar at 65%. The third time...HE PASSED with and overall score of 84% (90% in math, 84% grammar, 85% reading and 95% in incident report writing)! He had went to UVU to apply last week but was still waiting on the test results so he was placed 1st on the waiting list. Rather than us pressing our luck we decided he should apply at SLCC and not chance waiting for someone to cancel or not show up at UVU the first day of school. He had an appointment at SLCC today and got accepted. So until the end of next April you will see my hubby in nothing but
This...and this...Ok not dressed like a doll but dressed in uniform...

and doing this...
That is IF you see him since he will work all day and go to the academy all night until 9:30. I know all the hard work will pay off. Scott doesn't really want to be an officer, he wants to do SWAT but probably will end up being an officer for awhile until he can get on SWAT!! Congrats babe...I am so proud of you!!

Update...Police Academy

Well here is my update for the police academy. Scott did not get in the police academy yet I should say. Why...because he didn't pass the entrance exam. There is a test that consists of four sections...math, reading, grammar and incident report writing. You have to get at least a 70% score to pass and Scott got a 60%. He is going to be retaking the test and will apply for the police academy to start in September. I know he can do it. And now he will have more than a day to study for it. Good luck babe!!

Police Academy

I know I shouldn't post this until he is actually accepted...but this is what we have been up to lately. Scott has decided rather than looking for another job in a similar field he really wants to become a parole officer or do swat. What does this mean? POLICE ACADEMY!! If he gets accepted (which we will know in the next 2 weeks) he will start in June and go every night and all day Saturday for 3 months. Then he will get a 4 month break and be at it again for another 5 months!! Single mom here I come.

We are also on the waiting list at another school which would mean he would start in 2 weeks and go straight through and graduate in December!! Yes, I do prefer this one...just to get it done and over with. I will keep you updated...

Scott's Biggest Obsession...

Ok besides this...
and this...
This is Scott's biggest obsession....me? Nope

BASKETBALL!! This was the season tournament in our stake and winning this game got them to one game closer to the tournament for the finals...Did they win? Yes. Then they had to play again right after and lost. I'm glad I had to hurry home to get to bed to be to work early the next day! Sorry babe better luck next year!!
