Lava Hot Springs

We did end up taking our little camping trip to Lava Hot Springs! It was very much needed after everything that had happened last week. We kept debating on if we should go or not but finally decided to just do it. We left later than we had originally planned on Thursday because we had to wait for our insurance to come and take pictures and get an estimate of the damages on Scott's bike. But once we got there it was all worth the wait! Our kids were pretty good, Karter met some new friends and I even rafted down the river!! For those of you that don't know I HATE WATER!!! Or at least the fear of drowning in it! I don't know if I had just had enough and didn't care what happened at that time or what got into me but it was a ton of fun. My mom, Ian (who hates water as much as me), Karter (he absolutely loved it) and Kandon (didn't even cry) went down with us! The water park there is a lot of fun and really close to our campground. It was nice to get away from the "hectic" everyday life I feel like we have been living all summer and relax. Plus if you have ever been to Lava Hot Springs you can walk everywhere without even driving!! That was a big plus by not having to get the kids in the car everywhere we went!! We even got to watch there little parade and when I say little that is exactly what I mean! The parade went up and back down main street in a total of 10-15 minutes but Karter loved all the candy they threw! The last night there Ian played his guitar with a guy that was camping next to us and they are both awesome at playing. It was great to listen to him while our kids were asleep and see how talented my lil' brother is...he is amazing!! Hope all of you had a FABULOUS 24th of July!!

Some Bad Luck!!

Poor Scott had a rough couple of days last week. Starting Monday he got a ticket for illegal fireworks. Who knows how much this will cost, he has to appear in court before a judge to decide! Hopefully his bad luck won't follow him to court that day!

Then the very next night he was coming home late from work and mowing my Grandma's lawn and hit a dog on his motorcycle! Luckily he is fine (few injuries but nothing broken) and TOTALED HIS BIKE!! It doesn't look like his bike is hardly wrecked but I guess it got the frame and because it takes 10-15 hours of labor to replace the frame and then all the other parts that needs fixed it is cheaper for the insurance to total it than it would be to fix it!! I guess the up side to it all is Scott is glad to get a bigger bike!! He is getting another one and I am fine with it as long as he will wear his helmet!! Plus Scott is not at fault for the accident since the dog was not on a leash and there is a leash law the owner of the bike will be responsible to pay and our insurance is filing a subrogation against him so he will have to pay it back!! Hooray for us (for all you dog lover's...the dog was ok I guess it broke it's leg), as many of you know Scott HATES dog's and his love for them just grew MUCH deeper!! As one of my friend's said so much for Karter ever getting a puppy now! I am just glad my husband walked away to what could have been a very serious or fatal accident had the situation been any different! I love you babe and I am so glad your ok!!

For Sale

So either you have seen it personally or heard we might move. We put our house up for sale today. It is most definitely a bitter sweet. I none sense I am excited but also scared and sad at the same time. Me and Scott built this house together and weren't planning on staying here as long as we have. We are just seeing what will happen I guess we finally decided if we don't put it up for sale we won't know if it will sale or not. If we do end up moving there are many people we will miss and hopefully we will stay in contact. We definitely have a wonderful neighborhood and have met a lot of wonderful people. If we do move we won't be too far, we will be building a bigger house (which is well needed and deserved) not too far from here! And on the other hand if we don't move and end up staying at least we know it was meant to be that way.

Some Weekend Fun

This weekend after our tournament on friday we went up to my sister and brother in laws, Scott and Shawna's for the Draper days' The parade up there is awesome. Almost everyone throws candy or bigger things like soccer balls, water bottles or t-shirts to the kids. Karter had a lot of fun with his cousins!
Then later that night we went to American Fork to visit with my dad's side of the family. My uncle Bob (from Minnesota), Uncle Bud (from Fillmore), Aunt Bonnie (from Moab) and my Grandpa (from just outside of Page) and of course my aunts Lori and Pat (from around here) were all down to visit so we had a BIG BBQ with family and friends. The kids swam, played games and us adults visited and had lots of laughs. It was great to see all them together. I think the last time that happened on my dad's side was when my aunt dies. Yes, sad but true. It was great to see everyone together again. The night ended with some awesome fireworks.

First Place

Scott and I have played on a coed softball team for my work for the past six years and this is the first year we have taken FIRST PLACE. Here are some pic's of our last game...team mates missing are Shannon, Clint, Nate, Ashley, Yvonne, Tori, Robbie, Jessica C, Dane and Jessica P. (I know that sounds like a lot missing but half the time we barely had enough players with everyone's summer vacations). It was a GREAT TOURNAMENT after a not so great season only winning two games.

Stop!!!

I was at bunco having a girl's night out and on my way home I decided to not stop ( I kind of more or less yielded) all the way and a sheriff was sitting on the other side of it (in the dark) and pulled me over. Yeah I know it was my OWN FAULT!! But it sucks! I guess that is what I get for not obeying the law. The thing that sucks more is I ended bunco having a pretty good night winning the $20 prize and the Sheriff had asked me where I had been and I told him and he had the nerve to ask me if I won!! So I told him I did and then he issues me my ticket!! Positive side of it, I can take traffic school and he said Utah County (since it was through a sheriff) now offers it online so I can take it in the comfort of my own home! I might even make Scott help me or do it because he is the King at traffic school or at least use to be. Just thought I would post this so you all know I do have bad days too!!

Some more Fourth of July Weekend Fun!!

Shannon invited us over for an outdoor movie (Spiderwick Chronicles) and fireworks with her and Clint's family. We had so much fun. From watching Clint and Scott light a trillion fireworks, which I have to say they did an excellent job at keeping them going, to watching Haley jump through the fireworks (yes through them), to a good movie that I hadn't saw yet because Karter went with my mom to it so I hadn't seen it until now. It was lots of fun and a great way to end a fun weekend! Thanks Shannon we had a blast!!

Our Fourth of July!

Our day started off at the parade in Provo. We went with my family (besides Ian because he had to work), my aunt Bonnie, my cousin Jamie and our friends Bridget and Easton. Scott and Easton went and set blankets down at about 4:30 in the morning and had to sit with them until the parade started at 9:00. Unfortunately people can't follow the rules in not starting to set blankets down until five and by the time they got there the only front row area they could get was going to be in the sun. Oh well we survided and Karter and Kandon had fun as well as all of us! Later that afternoon we went to my Grandma's and had a BBQ. It was good food, good company and good times!!

Then we ended our night with THE STADIUM OF FIRE (yes, Miley Cyrus and the Blue Man Group). We went with my family and Bridget and Easton. Karter has been so excited and counting down for the last week! He absolutely loves the Blue Man Group (and Miley Cyrus). It was so much fun other than my poor brother LOST HIS TICKET!! Yes, I said LOST HIS TICKET!!! He had decided to ride his bike and had troubles on the way there and ended up walking most of the way and by the time he got there (about and hour late) he went to get his ticket in his pocket and it was gone! So aside from the fact my poor brother was having a very frustrating and bad night we ended up having all the fun. And fun it was!! We loved the entertainment from Glenn Beck, to the Blue man group, to Miley Cyrus and ending in some fabulous FIREWORKS!! Our kids loved it (even Kandon) and I didn't have to go out once with either of them! It was a GREAT NIGHT all around beside Ian's troubles and me feeling awful for him! Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July.

I Can Ride A Bike Without Training Wheels

Karter can ride a bike without training wheels (and he sings the song that really goes "I can ride my bike with no handle bars" but he sings "I can ride my bike with no training wheels"). Last Thursday our neighbors (Jeff and Karly and their kids) were over and Trey told Karter he should ride a bike without training wheels so Karter was up for trying it. Trey had the other neighbor boy's bike and Karter tried it but it was a little big and Karter's bike is bigger too. So Trey went over to his house and got his bike and Karter tried it and off he went! It only took a few times of Scott helping him and then he was on his own! He had a hard time starting out and the next morning him and Trey were at it again by the time I got home from work at 10:00 am. I was out helping Karter start out and he didn't want me to, he wanted Trey to. So after about 10 times of Trey helping him start out I hear Trey say "Karter I will give you $20 if you will start on your own, I promise I will get it from my dad." Karter said "No Trey I don't need any, help me Trey." It was hilarious!! Needless to say by that afternoon Trey had taught Karter how to start on his own! Karter's hasn't touched his bike since and has been borrowing Trey's and we have to take it almost everywhere we go. Thanks Trey for talking Karter into trying to ride a bike without training wheels, teaching him how to start out on his own and letting him borrow your bike. Congrats Karter, you are growing up so fast and getting bigger everyday. Dad and mom are so proud of you and all your accomplishments! We love you Bug!!
